Bernadine P. Dwyer, 89, 2701 1st Ave S., Escanaba, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Christian Park Health Care Center.
She was born on March 17, 1926 in Masonville, daughter to Frank and Pauline (Posenke) Murray. Bernadine graduated from Rapid River High School.
On August 6, 1949 Bernadine married Louis A. Dwyer in Marquette.
She had worked as a cook for many years for St. Anne’s Church, Holy Name School, Swallow Inn and the Delta County Correctional Facility.
She loved going to the casino and picking blueberries.
Bernadine was a member of St. Anne’s Church.
Among survivors include her sons, Patrick (Patty) Dwyer of Aurora, CO, Louie (Noreena) Dwyer of Bark River, Jim Murray of Menominee; daughters, Fran Dwyer of Schaffer, Lynn (Terry) Scheenemen of Gladstone, Paula (Tom) King of Ford River and Mary (Kevin Holt) of Geneva, IL; grandchildren, Chris (Amanda) Saunders, Chad Nelson, Tom (Sonja) Popour, Jennifer (Chuck) Methvin, Terry Scheeneman, Daniel Dwyer, Kevin (Rachael) Holt, Stephen, Katherine and Meghan Holt, Randy, Nicholas and Samuel Dwyer, Jim Jr. (Donna), Billie, David (Tracey)Murray, Nancy (Tim) Luppens; great grandchildren, Alex and Aubree Saunders, Allyssa and Taralyn Scheeneman, Sean, Aden, Shane, Athena and McKenzie Pamela Dwyer, and Grady and Hudson Methvin; sister, Susan Eagle of Brampton; and many nieces and nephews.
Bernadine was preceded in death by her husband, Louis A. Dwyer on November 12, 1974; son, Thomas Dwyer; daughter, Pamela Dwyer; daughter in law, Ellie Murray; granddaughter, Kallie Dwyer; brothers, Robert (Alice) Murray and Francis (Kay) Murray; sisters, Anna Mae (Fred) LeClaire, Lucille (Clarence) Sheedlo and Marie (George) LeBrasseur; and brother in law, John Eagle.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 16th from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Fran DeGroot officiating.
