Barbara Jean Kassick, 93, of Escanaba, passed away at Christian Park Healthcare Center on Saturday morning, September 30, 2017.
She was born on January 2, 1924, one of seven children to the late Peter and Olga (Wallin) Waske, in Escanaba.
She attended school in Escanaba and on January 31, 1945 married the late William Kassick in Milwaukee, WI.
Barbara worked as an usher at the Delft Theater and at home raising one daughter, Mary (David) Kassick Milkiewicz. She was a devoted wife and mother, and loved taking care of them and her home.
Barbara enjoyed going out to lunch with her daughter and sisters. She also enjoyed shopping, having friends over for tea and watching T.V.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Mary (David) Milkiewicz; one granddaughter, Tiffany (Bart) Miller; one great grandson, Hunter; one sister, Amila (Herbert) Dahl and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years, William Kassick; one brother, Otto Waske; sisters, Blanch (Clyde) Lapista, Irene (John) Lachapelle, Virginia Waske and Mildred Lake.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4th from 10 a.m. until noon at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at noon with Rev. Rick Courier officiating. Entombment will be held at the Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.
