Arlene M. (Cousineau) Castle, 80, of Escanaba, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 22, 2017 at Christian Park Health Care Center.
She was born on August 25, 1937 in Escanaba, daughter to James and Bertha (Roberts) Cousineau. Arlene graduated from Escanaba High School.
After raising her family, Arlene worked at IGA and then St. Vincent De Paul for 18 years before her retirement.
She loved to play the guitar, celebrating with family and friends, feeding and watching the deer, going for rides in the woods, playing horseshoe and bean bags, knitting, sewing and crocheting.
Prayer was important to Arlene. She was a member of St. Anne’s Church.
She was also a member of the OSF Hospital Auxiliary and St. Vincent De Paul Society.
Among survivors include her sons, David LaMarche, Dan (Roxanne) LaMarche and Dale (Amy) LaMarche; daughter, Deborah (Joseph) Nolde all of Escanaba; her significant other of many years, James Castle; the father of her children, William L. LaMarche; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Delores) Cousineau of Escanaba; and sister, Katherine Fudala of Escanaba.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Raymond Cousineau and sisters, Ruby Chouinard and Margaret Therrian.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Friday, December 1st at St. Anne’s Church from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. which will be officiated by Rev. Fran DeGroot. A luncheon will be served following the mass.
Burial will take place in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
