Arlene J. Sundquist, 80, of Bark River, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.

Arlene was born in Escanaba on November 10, 1936, daughter of Emil and Josephine (Skrobiak) Martin. She was raised in Perronville and graduated from Bark River Harris High School in 1956.

On June 2, 1956, Arlene married her high school sweetheart Rodney Sundquist at Sacred Heart Church in Schaffer.

She enjoyed working for Derocher’s Market and Thompson Oil in Bark River and The Delta County Airport until her retirement in 2008.

She loved spending time with her family and especially loved going to sporting events to cheer on her children and grandchildren. She attended her first Packer game when she was 78 years old. Arlene also enjoyed watching her flower gardens blossom, which she took great pride in.

Arlene was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, The Red Hats the “Classic Lassies” and The Bark River Senior group on Wednesday’s.

She is survived by her children; Renee Sundquist, Todd (Sandi) Sundquist, all from Bark River. Grandchildren, Kyle Jenshak, (fiancé, Raeann Johnson), Kortney Jenshak (fiancé, Paul Jorasz), Bryce Sundquist and Brett Sundquist; great grandchildren, Aria and Kolten Jenshak; brother in law, Francis (Kay) Sundquist of Bark River; sisters in law, Charlotte (Tom) Rose of Marshall, Wi; and Kolet Sundquist of Milwaukee, Wi; aunts, uncle, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rodney.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. with Arlene’s cousin, Deacon Mike LeBeau officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral services at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Schaffer.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Sundquist family.

  6. I was so sad to hear of sweet Arlene’s passing. She was one of my favorite Medicare clients at Garceau Insurance. I will miss her sweet voice, positive outlook on life, and hearing about how much she loved her family and how good they were to her. I will miss her but she’s with “her Rodney” now! That makes me happy!
