James "Jim" Andrew Cousineau, 68, of Wilson, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017, unexpectedly while cross country skiing with his wife Susan at the Days River Trail in Gladstone.

He was born in Roscommon, MI on May 31, 1948, the son of Paul and Arlene (Rising) Cousineau. Jim graduated as Valedictorian in 1968 from Roscommon High School, and was All-State in all Varsity sports. He attended Kalamazoo College, Central Michigan University, University of Michigan and Yale University. Jim earned a Master's Degree in Divinity and Guidance Counseling.

On November 13, 1982, James married Susan (Forman) Cousineau in Cedarville, MI.
Jim worked as a school counselor, church planter and as the pastor to many churches. Most recently he was serving as the Pastor at Hannahville.

He enjoyed cross country skiing, hunting, fishing, writing, mentoring and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Susan (Forman) Cousineau; children, Jesse (Mary) Cousineau of Jacksonville, FL, Matthew (Kellie) Krause of Gladstone, MI, Seth Bernard of Traverse City, MI, Amy Sprague of Escanaba, MI, Jill (Jeremy) Nastoff of Gladstone, MI, Joy (Phillip) Hoover of Las Vegas, NV and Joanna (Tom) LaFleur of Ypsilanti, MI; 16 grandchildren; siblings, Paulette (John) Jansen of Higgins Lake, MI, Laurie Cook of Roscommon, MI, Debbie (Bud) Mann of Roscommon, MI and Jeff (Kim) Cousineau of Olivet, MI; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

The following visitations and services will be hosted at New Life Assembly of God in Escanaba, MI on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Services will be officiated by Pastor Scout Hester of Les Cheneaux Christian Fellowship, a church planted by Pastor Jim and Sue. Visitation will take place from 1 – 3 p.m with services celebrating the life of Jim to follow at 3 p.m. Following the services, there will be a luncheon.
