Frank Gaber, 90, formerly of LaBranche, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility following a short illness.

He was born in the family home in LaBranche on July 6, 1926. He was the youngest son of Andrew and Anna (Krause) Gaber.

His early school years were in the LaBranche School House and then went to Powers-Spalding.

On June 28, 1947, he married Valerie Schultz in the Polish National Catholic Church in Harris. She preceded him in death on November 23, 1992.

Frank worked as a bus driver and custodian for many years for the North Central School. He also worked for Pine Timber and P.S. Locker Plant.

In his earlier years, he owned and operated a dairy farm.

Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom picking and playing fast pitch softball.

He was a member of Normenco Sportsman Club, Harris Twp. Fire Department and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, and Perronville Senior Citizens Center.

Among survivors include his two daughters, Judy Petrick of Bark River and Karen Evans of Ohio; grandchildren, Theresa (Kevin) Gatchell, Mary (Russell) Aird, Carol (Donald) Aird, Cherie (Jeremy) Jackson, Teri Ahlin (Joe Masino), Josh Gaber and Kori (Dave) Duquette; great grandchildren, Breanne and Trevor Aird, Damien (Wanda) and Tyson Seymour, Katelyn Gatchell, Sydney, Addison and Nathan Aird, Logan, Paige and Carter Jackson and Bailey Glass; great great grandson, Damien Seymour, Jr.; and sisters in law, Rose Gaber, Ruth Gorecki, Betty Vaness and Marie Gaber.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie; son, Jim; sisters, Helen Roshak, Julia Lucas and Ann Pena; brothers, Joe, Tony, Stanley and Walter; son in law, John Petrick; and special friend, Mary Shiverski.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 30th from 3 to 5 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 5 p.m. with Rev. Darryl Pepin officiating. A meal will follow in the church hall.

Burial will take place in St. Michaelís Cemetery in Perronville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Gaber family.
