Harry Elmer Bolm, 73, Bark River, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2016, at UP Health System Marquette.

He was born in Escanaba on June, 12, 1942, son of the late Elmer and Marian (Anderson) Bolm.

Harry graduated from Bark River-Harris High School in 1960.

On June 14, 1963, Harry married the love of his life, Janet Sacra, in Richmond, VA.

Harry served in the United States Air Force from 1960 until he was honorably discharged in 1964.

He was employed at Burroughs Corp repairing office machinery from 1964 to 1967, at Trailways in Washington D.C. from 1967 to 1968, and then moved back to Bark River where he drove truck over the road for Graham Trucking, Smeester Bros., CW Transport, Packerland Transport, Harry’s Yard Service, and Niagara Logistics until his retirement in 2013. He was named Driver of the Year by NASTC in 2007 and drove nearly 5 million professional miles. He owned and operated Harry’s Yard Service.

Harry loved his family. He enjoyed helping others, working in the woods, anything to do with John Deere, and feeding and watching the birds.

He is survived by his wife, Janet of Bark River; daughter, Vicki Pfiester of Bark River; son, Marc (Robin) Bolm of Eustis, FL; sister, Janice Jaeger of Escanaba; grandchildren, Georgia Bolm, Morgan Pfiester, and Blake Pfiester; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Marian; infant son, Michael Bolm; infant sister, Shirley Bolm; sister, Pat Erickson; and brother, David Bolm.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. The American Legion Rheaume-Knauf Post 438 of Bark River will have military rites at 5 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Strom officiating. A meal will follow services at Salem Lutheran Church in Bark River.

Burial will be in Bark River Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Bolm family.
