Patricia L. “Pat” McCarthy, 85, Escanaba, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015, at Bishop Noa Home.

She was born in Escanaba of July 12, 1930, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Stemac) Bovin.

Pat was raised and attended school in the Chicago area.

On June 16, 1951, she married the late Edward Q. McCarthy at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone.

Pat worked as a waitress in her younger years and was a teacher’s aide for the Escanaba School System for many years.

She volunteered at OSF St. Francis Hospital and was a member of Red Hat Society, OSF Auxiliary, RSVP, Bay Sage, and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Pat loved to travel and winter in Florida.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Patti (Tom) Sealander of Gladstone; sons, Ed (Sue) McCarthy and Tim (Julie) McCarthy, both of Escanaba; brothers, Doug (Bonnie) Bovin of Round Lake and Dean (Nancy) Bovin of Gladstone; grandchildren, Nicole (Kevin) Kang, Jenelle (Justin) Spaulding, Chris Sealander, Jason (Jamie) McCarthy, Jessica (Nick) Nolde, Edward P. (Jenny) McCarthy, Erin McCarthy, Kyle (Lauren) Vanderlinden, Tony Foirillo, Trisha Anderson, Meghan McCarthy, and Quintin McCarthy; step grandchildren, Adam (Kandi Boudreau) Marenger, Jessie (Mykeda) Marenger, and Tara Marenger; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; daughters, Colleen Kay Anderson and Kathleen Fiorillo; granddaughter, Shayla Anderson; and brother, William Bovin.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at 5 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Wells. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anthony’s Building Fund. Envelops will be available at the funeral home.
