Catherine E. Seymour, 62, Ft Knox, KY, passed away early Sunday morning, January 18, 2015 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.
She was born on September 11, 1952 in Detroit, MI, daughter to Raymond and Evelyn (Dittmar) LaFreniere. Catherine graduated from Redford Union High School.
Catherine married Lawrence Joseph Seymour in July of 1984 in Escanaba. He preceded her in death.

She moved to the U.P in the 70's and was a waitress at her parents restaurant in Newberry, MI and later moved to Escanaba where she worked at the Buck Inn and later became a widow and raised her children full time.

She loved spending time with her family, talking to her children and grandchildren daily, watching her old tv/game show as well as going to bingo and the casino. Catherine was a die hard Lions fan and loved Conway Twitty.

Among survivors include her children, Lawrence (Anthony Birge) Seymour of Nashville, TN, Cheryl (Chad) Villanueva of New Baden, IL, Andrew (Kelli) Seymour of Fort Knox, KY, Justin Seymour of Green Bay, Alex (Sarah) Seymour of Iron Mountain, MI, Pat Seymour of Gladstone, Mickey Seymour of Green Bay, WI as well as other step children around the area; grandchildren, Natalie Short, Nathen Seymour, Vanessa Villanueva, Bella Michaud, Caleb Roberts, Quentin Villanueva, Peyton Seymour, Jenna Seymour, Eli Seymour, Lucas Seymour and Ean Seymour; close friend, Joan Edwards; sisters in law, Janice Seymour, Laurie LaFreniere, and her close cousin Cheryl Moore who she considered her sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lawrence, she was preceded in death by her son, Mike Seymour; grandson, Anthony Joseph Seymour; brother, Raymond LaFreniere; and sister, Linda Paulson.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 22nd from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph and St. Patrick’s Church with Rev. Eric Olson officiating. A meal will follow in the church hall.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Seymour family.
