Charles E. “Charlie” “Chuck” Luczak, 89, 1620 Willow Creek Rd., Lot 3, Escanaba, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at his home.

He was born on February 2, 1925 in Wausaukee, WI. Charlie was raised in Wausaukee and graduated from Wausaukee High School.

Charlie served in the Navy from January 27, 1944 until his honorable discharge on May 23, 1946. He was honored with a Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon (2 Stars), and Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal (5 Stars).

Following his years in the Navy, Charlie attended trade school in Marinette. He later was employed OMC Johnson Marine in Racine, WI. He lived in Kenosha until his retirement and then returned to Wausaukee.

On September 6, 1996, Charlie married Beverly Reasor Jeannette at Birch Creek Catholic Church in Menominee.

In 2006, Charlie and Beverly moved to Escanaba.

Among his survivors include his wife, Beverly of Escanaba and her two sons, John (Ulle) Jeannette of Rock and David (Lori) Jeannette of Plainfield, IL; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 6th from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Church. The Delta County Veterans Council will have military rites at 10:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fran DeGroot officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Luczak family.
