Eleanor E. Robinette, 92, formerly of Escanaba, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.

She was born on November 17, 1921 in Spalding, MI, daughter of August and Maryanne (Paquette) Murray. Eleanor attended LaBranche School for a few years and graduated from Powers/Spalding High School in 1941.

On August 30, 1941, Eleanor married Leonard Robinette at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Foster City. Leonard preceded her in death in 1990.

Eleanor was a member of St. Patrick and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Escanaba. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also loved traveling, bowling and going to the casino.

She is survived by two sons, Reginald (Barbara) Robinette of Pound, WI and Randall (Kristin) Robinette of Escanaba; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Kyle) Gebhart of Winneconne, WI, Kari (Shane) Vandracek of Neenah, WI, Stephen Robinette of Oshkosh, WI, Kelly (Chris) Herman of Menasha, WI, Melissa (Adam) Keagle of Grosse Pointe, MI, Heather (Mike) Gatien of Powers, MI and Laura (Brandon) Stromberg of Escanaba, MI; sixteen great grandchildren, Cole and Mckenna Gebhart, Kaitlyn, Tyler and Jaden Vandracek, Ethan and Abegail Robinette, Evelyn Herman, Elaina, Leo, and Simone Keagle, Haylee, Griffin and Jansen Gatien, Peyton and Brielle Stromberg. Eleanor is also survived by one sister, Iris Radle of Harbor Springs, MI; sisters in law, Pauline (John) Murray of Perronville, Alice Charlevoix of Iron Mountain, Betty Cary of Hardwood, Shirley Johnson of Foster City, Nancy Robinette of Schaffer, and Arlene Robinette of Iron Mountain; brothers in law, Don (Marie) Robinette of Milwaukee and Harold (Carol) Robinette of Schaffer; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryon Robinette; five sisters, Edna Cooper, Lena Depotie, Ruth Wackler, Eva Myers-Edberg and Ethel LaPointe; and two brothers, Able and John Murray.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 16th from 2 to 4 p.m. (Central Time) at St. Joseph Church in Foster City. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Daryl Pepin officiating.

Burial will immediately follow the funeral mass at the Foster City Cemetery. A lunch will be served following the burial in the church hall.
